The first time I met John in person, was at the 2002 West Fest Cowboy Festival in
Red River New Mexico. There are times in life you come into contact with people for
the first time and feel like you have known them all your life. Such as it is, when you
find yourself lucky enough to meet up with John Schaffner! John is a sincere kind
hearted honest Cowboy. He has a love and devotion to the land, the Cowboy life,
and his fellow man. He has a zest for life, and it all shines through in his work.
John Schaffner writes about life on the range past and present. His performances, are
filled with stories and poems that have audiences experience a broad spectrim of
emotions. From heart warming to tears, and not necessarily tears of sadness. Johns
quick wit, and sense of humor can have you rolling in laughter to the point of tears!
A renowned chuckwagon cook, John has performs regularly at WestFest and various
events across the United States. And will be heading up, our Cowboy Church Section.
