The Side You Don't See
<>*<>

His skin is like tanned leather
from working in the sun all day.
There's lines on his rugged face
no cold cream could take away.
<><>
His hands are like tempered steel,
hardened by years of labor.
He is alittle tempermental,
but still a real good neighbor.
<><>
He walks a little to the left,
It's kind of a funny sight.
His legs are bowed at the knees.
Yep, he's a Cowboy, alright.
<><>
We see him standing proud and true,
as tough as a man can be.
But there's a side to this Cowboy
that we will never see
<><>
Like when he holds his wife at night,
Or his Baby in the morn....
Or how he hid his face to cry
when that child was born.
<><>
We didn't see him break
when his Mamma passed away,
Or we didn't hear him scream
when he had nothin' left to say.
<><>
He went through these things, no doubt
like any man will do.
He may be a little different
but, in a sense, he's just like you.
<><>
So, no matter when you see him,
or where ever it might be.
When you look at him remember,
There's a side you just can't see.
